Dandelions

Hey everyone!! Sorry it's been a while since we posted.  We have been working on some very exciting things we hope to share with you before the end of 2019!  Since it's been a while I thought we might start out with something easily accessible.  So growing up most people I knew treated dandelions as a weed, trying year after year to get rid of them. (Even though we loved making wishes on them but who didn't!).  But did you know in some parts of the world dandelions are used for food and medicine?  Not only is this fantastic little herb readily accessible but the entire plant is useful!  The root does wonders for the liver, digestive system, and helping break down fat and cholesterol.  It can be ingested as a tonic or simply cooked up and added to your meal!  The leaf (best tasting when harvested young) helps with reducing water retention while sparing important electrolytes.  It's amazing the magical herbs we come in contact with every day and never even realize their power!  Always remember this post is based on our opinions only and should never be taken in place of a professional medical opinion so please talk to your doctor first!  (An additional disclaimer for this post: some people are allergic to the milky latex in this plant if a rash develops stop use.)

Love Always,
Mad Moon Sisters
